Jackrabbits are not actually rabbits, but are hares! They are born with fur and are larger than rabbits. Capable of reaching speeds of 40 miles per hour, they use leaps and a zigzag running style to evade their predators. This herbivore's diet consists of grass, plants and cacti. Jackrabbits produce several litters a year, each with one to six young.
