GRAND CANYON, Ariz., April 11— Grand Canyon Conservancy (GCC) announced today that the Board of Directors has appointed Susie Huhn as Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Huhn has extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and a proven track record of success. She is the former CEO of Casa de los Niños, a nationally accredited child welfare and behavioral health nonprofit.
Huhn's strengths include program and board development, strategic planning, finance, and community relations, and she holds a specialized interim CEO certification. Under her leadership, she significantly increased Casa de los Niños' impact, growing its budget by 77%, one that mirrors the scale of GCC's operations.
"Susie's background in a sector emphasizing compassion positions her perfectly to provide the steady leadership needed to navigate GCC through this transitional period," said Shantini Munthree, GCC Board Chair. "Combined with our already strong relationship with Grand Canyon National Park, Susie's experience brings the organization new promise and possibility, and the opportunity to enhance our fundraising efforts around the ambitious priority projects GCC supports at the park."
"I am pleased to serve as the Interim CEO of GCC," said Huhn. "I will continue the organization's work with our committed executive leadership team, staff, and board to remain focused on upholding GCC's mission to preserve and protect Grand Canyon National Park and advance our shared goals."
